From the wiki, here's the latest on Ed Oliver:
The Week 2 hip injury sounds relatively minor. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bills' medical staff believes it's "not too serious." Oliver suffered the hip injury during warmups before the Bills' Thursday night game against Detroit and was ruled inactive. The mini-bye after TNF gives him extra recovery time (from the [Ed Oliver page]).
That said, Oliver's overall health is a legitimate concern. He had an absolutely brutal 2025 — three surgeries in 12 months (high-ankle sprain, distal biceps tear, meniscus cleanup) — and his pattern of recurring injuries warrants monitoring.
On top of the physical stuff, he's also dealing with the tragic recent death of his 2-year-old son, which has kept him away from the team at times. So while this specific hip issue doesn't look serious in isolation, it's been a tough year for him all around.
