## Background
John Carr joined the Browns as chief of staff in 2026, bringing more than 25 years of experience at the prep, junior college and collegiate levels. He previously crossed paths with head coach Todd Monken at Southern Mississippi, where he served as director of football operations from 2013-15. Prior to Cleveland, Carr spent the last two years as a high school head coach (Starkville in 2025, Clinton in 2024) and earlier served as wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at Louisiana-Monroe and as assistant head coach at Troy. A native of Ruston, La., he played wide receiver at Louisiana Tech; his father, Roger, had a 10-year NFL career as a wide receiver.
