Background
Jason Tarver joined the Browns as linebackers coach in 2020 and added run game coordinator responsibilities in 2026. In his 23rd season as an NFL coach, he previously spent 13 seasons with the 49ers and three as the Raiders' defensive coordinator (2012-14). In 2025, he helped second-round LB Carson Schwesinger to NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors, and he developed LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah into a Pro Bowler. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees in chemistry and biochemistry.
