Background

Spent seven seasons with the San Francisco 49ers — started as a defensive quality control coach in 2019, moved to offensive QC in 2020-21, was tight ends coach 2022-24, and added run-game coordinator duties in 2025. Earlier stops as a research analyst with the Dolphins (2016-18), plus time on Browns and Bills staffs. Former college quarterback. Has never been a play-caller at the NFL level (or any level).

The Seahawks considered several in-house candidates but chose Fleury as a fresh outside voice. He replaces Klint Kubiak, who left to become the Raiders' HC after winning the Super Bowl with Seattle.
