- Position: Linebacker (RILB - Right Inside Linebacker)
- Team: TEN (Tennessee Titans)
2026 Outlook
Cedric Gray is positioned as a top-tier IDP linebacker riser heading into 2026, backed by two major factors: his 2025 breakout season (164 tackles, 7 TFLs, 2 FR, 1 sack as LB4 in PPG) and his new head coach Robert Saleh's proven track record of maximizing linebacker production in both real-life and IDP formats. Gray jumped from an 11% snap share as a rookie to 91% in 2025, earning the green-dot role at age 23. His run-defense grade of 92.7 ranked second among 88 qualified linebackers, suggesting elite floor potential in tackle-heavy games. Saleh's defensive philosophy historically funnels production to linebackers, which bodes well for Gray's 2026 ceiling. Fantasy ranking analysts are giving him top-3 IDP LB status heading into the season (per IDP Fantasy Football Analysis: 2026 Preseason IDP Risers & Fallers and Fantasy football IDP LB rankings & tiers: Boosting Cedric Gray).

Injury Status
Concussion protocol (Sept 8) — Likely out Week 1: Gray was placed in NFL's concussion protocol after a UTV accident over the weekend. Driver of the vehicle, he sustained "minor injuries" and a concussion; no alcohol or reckless driving involved per team source. Status for Week 1 vs Jets (Sept 14) is uncertain pending concussion clearance, but given the five-step protocol requiring clearance "less than a week out from the start of the season," Gray is likely sidelined Week 1. Titans analyst characterizes Gray's absence as "pretty catastrophic for the defense" given he's evolved into a "top-5 ILB in football and one of the core pillars of the defensive unit." Backup options are limited: aging Cody Barton (on decline) and rookie Anthony Hill would start if Gray can't clear protocol (per Titans Suffer 'Catastrophic' Cedric Gray Injury Ahead of Jets Game).
