Quick Facts
- Position: DT
- Team: KC (Kansas City Chiefs)
- Rankings: NFL Top 100 (#43, 2026 preseason ranking)
- Career achievements: Eight consecutive Top 100 appearances
2026 Outlook
Ranked #43 in the 2026 NFL Top 100 by players, marking his eighth consecutive appearance on the list. In 2025, amassed 63 pressures in 17 games (3rd among interior defensive linemen), 25 quarterback hits (led Chiefs), 12 tackles for loss (led Chiefs), and 7 sacks (led Chiefs). Remains a cornerstone of the Chiefs' defensive line. The 2026 Chiefs defense has been completely revamped to model top NFL defenses. Jones returns as an anchor with much more help than before: general manager Brett Veach added multiple competitive one-on-one partners, veteran free agents, and drafted edge rusher speed. Veteran Khyiris Tonga has had competitive battles with Pro Bowl center Creed Humphrey in practice—a rare sight signaling the floor has been raised on the defensive line. Edge rusher George Karlaftis is healthy after playing with a broken hand. Second-round rookie R Mason Thomas is showing elite-level speed off the edge. Jones should have the support he needs to elevate the entire Chiefs defense. (per Six things we learned at Chiefs training camp from Mahomes' progress to impact rookies) and Chiefs News: Chris Jones ranks No. 43 in NFL Top 100).
Role / Depth Chart
Primary defensive tackle and leader of Kansas City's defensive line. Part of head coach Andy Reid's defense.
