Quick Facts
- Position: K (Kicker)
- Team: Washington Commanders
2026 Outlook
Journeyman kicker who played for the San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, and Washington Commanders in 2025, converting 19-of-23 field goals overall. Cut by Washington in August, Moody was signed to the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad before Week 1 as competition for starter Tyler Loop after Loop missed three field goals across two preseason games. Ravens GM Eric DeCosta emphasized this as a "fresh set of legs to look at, evaluate, compare" in a "performance business." Moody spoke positively about the opportunity despite the nomadic 2025 season, acknowledging the volatility of the kicker position: "I could have tried to be a quarterback or something else — but no, I chose to be a kicker... You just kind of take it one day at a time." (per Ravens Kicker Tyler Loop Embraces Competition From Jake Moody)
Drawn a comparison between the potential 4-point field goal rule and the NBA's adoption of the 3-pointer, suggesting the 60+ yard rule change is a natural evolution of the game. Believes more practice and attempts at long-range kicks would result, which could elevate the fantasy value of kickers with strong legs. (per Should the NFL adopt the UFL's 4-point field goal rule?)
