Background

Craig Aukerman was named special teams coordinator on Jan. 26, 2026, arriving with 17 seasons of NFL experience and 10 at the collegiate level. He spent 2025 as special teams coordinator for the Miami Dolphins and 2024 as assistant special teams coach for the Los Angeles Rams. Before that he spent seven seasons (2017-23) with the Tennessee Titans, rising to special teams coordinator and assistant head coach, and four seasons (2013-16) with the Chargers. He began his NFL career as a defensive assistant with the Denver Broncos (2010) and later Jacksonville. In 2018, his first season as Titans coordinator, Tennessee set an NFL record for kickoff return average (32.0). A two-time NAIA All-American at the University of Findlay, Aukerman founded the Aukerman Family Foundation in 2021.
