Background

Josh Nelson was named director of performance science on Feb. 22, 2024. He joined the Falcons after serving as an assistant athletic director at Penn State from 2019-24, where he led applied health and performance science for the football program. Nelson previously spent six years (2013-19) at Baylor University in various performance roles and began his career at his alma mater, Emory & Henry College. He completed a doctorate in coaching and teaching studies at West Virginia University.
