Background

Justin Hood was named the Atlanta Falcons secondary coach on Feb. 3, 2024. In 2024 he helped guide safety Jessie Bates III to a season with four interceptions and a career-high four forced fumbles, and the Falcons finished tied for third in fewest plays of 20-plus yards allowed. Hood joined Atlanta after three seasons (2021-23) as a defensive quality control coach with the Green Bay Packers. He previously coached at Kent State, Western Carolina, Davidson and Capital University, and was a Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellow for the New York Giants in 2013.
