Background

Justin Mesa enters his first season with the Lions as an offensive quality control coach in 2025. Prior to joining Detroit, Mesa spent a portion of the 2025 offseason as the running backs coach at Montana State. Before that, he spent four seasons at Washington State, serving as the assistant special teams/assistant tight ends coach in 2024, an offensive quality control coach from 2022-23 and as the director of transfer recruiting in 2021.
