Background
Ephraim Banda joined the Browns as safeties coach in 2023 before being promoted to pass game coordinator in 2026. He spent 11 years coaching at the college level prior to joining the Browns, including roles as assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Utah State (2021-22) and co-defensive coordinator/safeties coach at Miami (2019-20). During his tenure with the Browns, Cleveland's defense ranked among the NFL's best in pass defense, finishing third in 2025 (167.2 yards per game) and leading the league in 2023.
Scheme & Fantasy Angle
As the Browns' pass game coordinator on a defense that has consistently ranked near the top of the NFL against the pass, Banda helps shape a unit that suppresses opposing passing-game fantasy production.
